The blockhouse from 1637

The log granary is the oldest surviving building in the village. The granary is evidence of grain cultivation in the Jauntal valley in the 17th century. One or two field names also document this (Gerstera; alp where barley was planted).

Originally, the gable front faced south and the roof was covered with shingles. The attic was turned round in 1911 when a barn extension was added. Today the gable front faces east.

Special stylistic features: Elaborate decorative forms (frieze work and gable painting), which emphasise the importance of this farm building, which was probably already rare at the time.
