The Bourret house is a shingled building with an imposing hip roof. It is typical of Cerniat houses.

It is thought to have been built between the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century, in the style of a number of houses in the village built at the same time in the same rural alpine style.

In 1995, Viviane Fontaine, a virtuoso paper artist, acquired the house from Jacques Guillon de Paris and added a contemporary annex on the lower ground floor (south).
