The first detached farmhouse in the hamlet of Liderrey is considered to be the perfect example of a pre-Alpine single-family dwelling with an elongated floor plan: that of a dwelling - a kitchen with a doorway, a large bedroom and its two small rooms with a stepped stove in painted tiles and original wood panelling, a bedroom and an outlay equipped with a stove dated 1781, on the ground floor - ; the rural one, adjoining the 16 m long corridor, with a shed and workshop for off-season work, barn, stable with 15 cots, stables (sheep, horses, small livestock), fodder room with trap door - ; and the chalet one, at the back - milk room, room for production when the herd is not on the mountain pasture, large cheese cellar under the large room, accessible from the shed and from outside.
In the 19th century, the herd summered at Gros-Mont, 10 km away, moving between the three alpine chalets of Haut du Mont (no longer in existence), Revers and Pra Michy.
The main facade features a uniform row of two doors and seven windows (1+4/dwelling door/+1/shed door/+1) on the ground floor and a row of eight windows on the first floor (4+2+2). The abundance of openings under the slightly overhanging eaves indicates a fourth function, often present in Gruyère farms and requiring good lighting: working at home on lace or plaited straw.
This was the home of a well-to-do farmer-breeder. Built on posts and topped with a flat gable roof, originally covered in shingles but now in sheet metal, its south-facing facade is made of masonry, with a gable wall pierced by six windows. The first floor comprises a large bedroom with fireplace, a dressing room, a bedroom, a storeroom and the bollard smoking room.
The main facade is richly moulded with a barn door fitted with a man's door surmounted by a scalloped lintel bearing the inscription: MO C CHOLLET N F PETTOLAZ 1822. The stove with painted flower garlands bears the Chollet-Pettolaz coat of arms and the inscription: Union, Amour et Amitiez 1810.
